Abstract

Hypertension is one of the most common non-communicable diseases with high global and national prevalence. This study aims to describe the role of families in supervising medication adherence in hypertensive patients in a rural setting. This was a quantitative descriptive study. The research was conducted in Desa Licin, Kecamatan Cimalaka, Kabupaten Sumedang. A total of 186 family members who live with hypertensive patients participated. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The study found that 75.8% of families played a good role in supervising medication adherence. The majority were women aged 18–25 years. Families play a critical role in supporting hypertensive patients' adherence to therapy. Their involvement is essential for the success of long-term treatment and community-based care strategies.
