Wawacan: Journal of Community Service (WJCS) is an academic journal that promotes community-based research and practices. This journal aims to disseminate knowledge and best practices from community service activities, and to encourage the implementation of science and technology for community advancement. WJCS serves as a platform for scholars, practitioners, and community actors to share insights and innovations in community engagement. It bridges academic knowledge with real-world application through inclusive, participatory, and transformative approaches. The scope of the journal includes community empowerment and participatory development; local wisdom and sustainable practices; education, health, and environmental outreach; rural and urban development programs; people-based economy and micro-entrepreneurship; youth and women’s empowerment; collaborative governance and community partnerships; as well as evaluation and impact assessment of community service initiatives. WJCS emphasizes people-centered economic models and inclusive policies that support marginalized communities. The journal encourages interdisciplinary contributions grounded in community engagement and service-learning, focusing on critical insights, innovative strategies, and policy-relevant outcomes. WJCS is published three times a year: in February, June, and October.
